Book Stacked, Vol. 1 – September ’25

Books on my mind & in my Audible.

September 2025.

September feels like that in-between month , summer winding down, routines picking back up, and a little more time to read in general.

This month is all about balancing busy days with time for myself. Audiobooks have been keeping me company when I’m on the move, and curling up with a book at night feels like an easy escape. September’s list is a mix, a couple I’ve wanted to finally sit down with, one I’m re-reading, and a few that just feel right for where I’m at.

Full List

  • Verity – Colleen Hoover
  • How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention EconomyJenny Odell
  • Down Girl: The Logic of MisogynyKate Manne
  • Originals: How Non-Conformists Change the World Adam Grant
  •  Flow: The Psychology of Optimal ExperienceMihaly Csikszentmihalyi

I picked this one up because I’ve heard it’s the kind of book you can’t put down. Suspense, dark edges, and a little obsession… seemed like the perfect story to get lost in. —

Update: 9/7/25 – I finished this book in ONE day! “Can’t put down” is an understatement. Apparently, I’m not the only one who thought this – there is going to be a movie about this book! Love it! I will be watching. 10/10 on this one! Heavy on the suggested list.

Coming back to this because it makes me slow down and question how I spend my time. It’s grounding, especially in a month that feels pulled in a million directions.

** started this 9/10 – remembering why I wanted to read this again! Excited to take notes and share this one with you guys!! **

| FINISHED | 9/15. Flying back home knocked out the rest of this book! I think it’s a great perspective on pausing, reflecting and moderating the chaos of this availability to everyone else’s lives!

Odell makes you pause and look at how much of life is stolen by the attention economy, and instead, encourages you to sit in stillness, look at a tree, notice a bird, or just give yourself permission to exist without producing or performing. There’s this steady reminder that slowing down isn’t laziness – it’s resistance, and it’s how you actually create space for meaning.

I appreciate the pause now- in this season of life- more than ever! It’s a great read and a great way of addressing our online presence.

I wanted something bold and sharp to challenge the way I think. This one’s been sitting on my list, and September felt like the time to dig into it. Love it so far.

This is another that’s been on my list for a long time. I’m hoping that choosing to write about it will help me stay motivated to finish it.

This one was recommended to me…. probably for a good reason, LOL. I guess we’ll find out.

Here’s my little September stack. Whether I get through them all or not, they’re the ones I’m reaching for this month.

I will post a review at the end of each book. — This is just me holding myself accountable. Until then. Xoxo.
